The Ottawa Senators tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Gloucester Rangers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Gloucester made the score 3-1 on a goal by Andrew Rossy at 6:39 in the third period, and Ottawa got as close as 3-2 when Eric Clitsome scored 19:27 into the third period. The Rangers were led by Rossy, who grabbed one goal. Dylan McDiarmid also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Keegan Rowe, who had one and Shane Topf and Dylan Giberson, who contributed two a piece. The Senators were helped by Greg Jansz, who tallied one goal. Jansz scored on the power play 15:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ottawa had gotten the advantage when Gloucester's Colton Keuhl was sent off for cross checking. Clitsome provided the assist. Ottawa additionally got points from Clitsome, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Hunter Racine, who had one. Doug Johnston rejected 26 shots on goal for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Charlie Millen recorded 18 saves for the Senators. Ottawa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
