Nepean beats Kanata 4-3 after comeback scareNepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Jan 27, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kanata Stallions on the way to a 4-3 win. Nepean took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Kanata storm back on a Brandon Petrie goal 6:03 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Nepean forced the Stallions goalie Brandon Lane to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Raiders were led by Kenneth Neil, who tallied three goals. Nepean also got a goal from luke scott as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Mitchell Herlihey, who had two and Stephan Beauvais, Dalen Hedges, Keenan Hodgson, and Cameron Yarwood, who each chipped in one. Nepean was unable to stop Kanata from sending pucks towards the net, and the Stallions eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Fabian Walsh also scored for Kanata. More assists for Kanata came via Nic LaBurn and Braedan Moffatt, who contributed one a piece. Ryan Mulder made 28 saves for the Raiders on 31 shots. Nepean incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Lane rejected 29 shots on goal for Kanata. The Stallions incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
