Molino leads Brockville over Kemptville, 5-2

Griffen Molino had two goals and two assists to lead the Brockville Braves to a 5-2 victory over the Kemptville 73s.

Molino's tallies came at 12:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville and 14:28 into the second to make the score 3-1 Brockville.

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:08 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Brockville kept Kemptville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Billy Cooper made 33 saves on 38 shots.

Brockville also got a goal from Zach Todd as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Brandon Cole, who had two, Joey House, who had three, and Shane Riddell, Ben Blasko, and Chris Roll, who contributed one a piece.

The 73s were helped by Ben St Marseille, who racked up one goal. St Marseille scored on the power play 3:41 into the second period to make the score 1-1. A tripping penalty on Blasko had put Kemptville on the power play. Jaret Smith assisted on the tally. Brandon Seatter also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Cole Allard, C Quinn, and Matt Tugnutt, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Jenkins recorded 20 saves for the Braves. Brockville totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cory Wilson was ejected from the game. The 73s ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For Kemptville, Patrick Crampton was ejected from the game.
