Carleton Place takes care of Kanata early, wins 10-0

The Carleton Place Canadians jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Kanata Stallions, 10-0.

Luke Martin had two goals to lead Carleton Place to victory. Martin scored at 11:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place and again while short handed 11:58 into the third to make the score 10-0 Carleton Place.

The Canadians made Kanata's netminders to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots and forcing 38 saves. Brayden St-Germain made seven stops and Brandon Lane made 31. Carleton Place stifled the Stallions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canadians featured an improved defense during the game. Carleton Place gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. The Canadians found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Carleton Place has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Jide Idowu, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Alex Globke, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Stephen Bayliss, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Carleton Place included Kevin Dufour, who had one and Luke Edwards, who had three. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Devin Campbell, Lucas Gonu, Alex Frere, and Brock Edwards, who contributed one a piece and Luke Formica, Garrett Moore, Anthony McVeigh, and Evan Peterson, who each chipped in two.

Kanata's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Carleton Place power plays. The Stallions could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Kanata puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Brendan Oneill made 17 saves for the Canadians on 17 shots. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Stallions incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
