Francis Landers gave the Hawkesbury Hawks the lead in the first period, and the Gloucester Rangers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-1. Hawkesbury took over the lead for good with a goal by Landers at 10:25 in the first period. William Plamondon picked up the assist.The Hawks were led by Brett Varrin, who racked up one goal. Varrin scored 3:20 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. Roman Ammirato assisted on the tally. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Carl Faucher and Ryan Kruss, who each chipped in one. Gloucester managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Rangers wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Gloucester was led by Dylan Giberson, who scored the team's only goal. Giberson scored on the power play 6:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury. The Rangers had taken the advantage when Hawkesbury's Jesse Turrin got sent off for tripping. Shane Topf provided the assist. Carmine Guerriero made 20 saves for the Hawks on 21 shots. Hawkesbury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dylan BrindAmour recorded 27 saves for Gloucester. The Rangers registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
