Brockville holds on for 4-3 win against NepeanBrockville Memorial Centre Fri, Jan 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brockville Braves survived a determined comeback attempt by the Nepean Raiders on the way to a 4-3 win. A goal by Ben Blasko put Brockville up 4-1 in the third period, but Nepean pulled to within one on Mitchell Herlihey's tally 17:28 into the third period. The Braves pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 19 penalty minutes. Brockville was helped by Taylor Henry, who registered one goal. Henry scored 10:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Hayden Hulton provided the assist. Brockville also got points from Blasko, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Zach Todd also scored for Brockville. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were David Ferreira, Cory Wilson, Anthony Pino, and Griffen Molino, who contributed one a piece. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brockville power plays. Nepean kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Pikul made 28 saves on 31 shots. Nepean additionally got points from Dalen Hedges, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Cory Durocher as well. More assists for Nepean came via Keenan Hodgson, who had one and Kenneth Neil, who had two. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Henry was ejected from the game. The Raiders' Matt Zawadzki stopped 17 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Nepean totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For the Raiders, Zach Rodier was ejected from the game.
