Pembroke rips Kanata, 4-1

The Pembroke Lumber Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Kanata Stallions, and when the final buzzer sounded Lumber Kings emerged with a 4-1 win.

Pembroke pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Lumber Kings were led by Jordan Boucher-Gould, who racked up one goal. Boucher-Gould scored 3:34 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Emilio Audi provided the assist.

Pembroke kept Kanata's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Lane made 37 saves on 41 shots.

Pembroke additionally got points from Ryan Erickson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stephen Hrehoriak also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Ben Dalpe, Jordan Larson, Owen McDade, Keegan Harper, and Liam Biard, who each chipped in one.

The Stallions' offense operated below they season average. Kanata puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Stallions were led by Derian Plouffe, who scored the team's only goal. Plouffe scored on the power play 45 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Curtis Watson assisted on the tally.

Darren Smith recorded 23 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Kanata incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Stallions, Brandon Petrie was ejected from the game.
