Brockville downs Kanata in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Jan 11, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Joey House gave the Brockville Braves a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Kanata Stallions when he scored 3:01 into the extra period. Brockville overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Braves trailed 2-0 after a goal by Kanata's Braedan Moffatt at 1:12 in the second period. Brockville tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Fabian Walsh at 18:08 in the third period. The Stallions' power play was ineffective against the Braves' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Brockville was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time. The Braves had been averaging 21.0 minutes in penalties per game. Brockville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Kanata power plays. The Braves forced Kanata goalie Brandon Lane to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Stallions ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mike Zajac was ejected from the game.
