The Ottawa Senators used a sparkling performance by Charlie Millen to take down the Cumberland Grads, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Ottawa's 3-0 shutout victory. The Senators were led by Michael Evelyn, who registered one goal. Evelyn scored 10:19 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Joey Champigny assisted on the tally. Ottawa stifled Cumberland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Ottawa averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. Ottawa also got points from Greg Jansz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Hunter Racine, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Justin Charbonneau, who had one. The Grads put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Senators to score on any of their four power plays. Cumberland was held below its usual level of production. The Grads average 2.9 goals per game. Cumberland forced Ottawa goalie Millen to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.
