Gloucester uses shootout to best Brockville, 3-2 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Gloucester Rangers defeated the Brockville Braves in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Brockville got a shootout goal from Nathan Todd. In addition to the clincher, Gloucester got a shootout goal from Shane Topf.

The Rangers overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Gloucester trailed 2-1 after a goal by the Braves' Jonathan Power at 18:14 in the third period. The Rangers tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Stevie Ray Adams at 19:20 in the third period.

Adams had two goals to lead Gloucester to victory.

Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Dylan Giberson, who had two and Eric Ferguson and Topf, who each chipped in one.

Brockville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Gloucester power plays.

The Braves were helped by Todd, who grabbed one goal. Todd scored 14:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Chris Roll provided the assist. In addition, Brockville received assists from Owen Gill, Ben Blasko, and Anthony Pino, who contributed one a piece.

Doug Johnston rejected 16 shots on goal for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Pikul recorded 23 saves for Brockville. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
