Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Nepean Raiders in a shootout 3-2 (3-2 SO). The shootout lasted for 12 attempts between the teams. Nepean's shootout goals were scored by Cameron Yarwood and Mitchell Herlihey. Carleton Place also got shootout goals from Luke Kasteel and Alex Globke.The Canadians overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Carleton Place fell behind 2-1 after a goal by the Raiders' Phil Nasca at 17:56 in the third period. The Canadians tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Evan Peterson at 18:25 in the third period. Carleton Place forced Nepean goalie Ryan Mulder to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Carleton Place also got points from Garrett Moore, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Luke Formica and Globke, who each chipped in one. The Raiders' offense rang up 34 shots on the Canadians' net. Keenan Hodgson also scored for Nepean. In addition, Nepean received assists from Brandon Watt, Vincent Llorca, Kenneth Neil, and Steven Johnston, who contributed one a piece. Brendan Oneill made 32 saves for Carleton Place on 34 shots. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nepean's Mulder stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
