Brockville boosted by Jenkins' play in net, beats Cumberland 3-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Matthew Jenkins helped the Brockville Braves defeat the Cumberland Grads, 3-1.

Brockville was led by Erik Brown, who tallied one goal. Brown scored 5:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Hayden Hulton assisted on the tally.

The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Brockville kept Cumberland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Reilly Turner made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Brockville also got a goal from Ben Blasko as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Chris Roll, Cory Wilson, Taylor Henry, Griffen Molino, and Ryan Walter, who contributed one a piece.

The Grads stifled the Braves' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Brockville was unable to stop Cumberland from sending pucks towards the net, and the Grads eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Cumberland was led by Sean Naish, who scored the team's only goal. Naish scored 18:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Chris King picked up the assist.

Matthew Jenkins made 33 saves for the Braves on 34 shots. Brockville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Grads incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
