Smiths Falls rips Nepean, 4-1

The Nepean Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Smiths Falls Bears, which beat Raiders, 4-1.

Smiths Falls' Patrick Martin was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 45 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Martin will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.98.

The Bears' penalty kill excelled, as Smiths Falls gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Bears were helped by Connor McLaren, who racked up one goal and one assist. McLaren scored on the power play 6:35 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Smiths Falls. Smiths Falls had gained a power play chance when Keenan Hodgson was whistled for roughing after whistle. Jeffrey Carroll provided the assist. Smiths Falls additionally got points from Yannick Crete, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Tyler Akeson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Daniele Disipio as well. More assists for Smiths Falls came via Blaine Byron and Patrick Sexton, who contributed one a piece.
