Cornwall falls to Brockville in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Brockville Braves pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Cornwall Colts on a clutch goal by Chris Roll.

Although Brockville was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Cornwall kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Colts got to within 2-1 on a short handed goal by Mitch Zion at 55 seconds in the third period.

Roll was all over the ice for the Braves, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Roll scored on the power play 1:25 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Brockville. Zach Todd provided the assist.

Brockville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cornwall power plays. The Braves forced Cornwall goalie Jordan Piccolino to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Brockville additionally got points from Ben Blasko, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Cory Wilson also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via David Ferreira, who had one.

Cornwall also got a goal from Carl Belizario as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Michael Pontarelli and Roman Ammirato, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Pikul rejected 25 shots on goal for Brockville. The Braves incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jordan Piccolino made 35 saves for the Colts on 38 shots. Cornwall ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Colts ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Billy Ulrick was ejected from the game.
