Brockville falls to Ottawa in overtime, 2-1 (OT)Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Dec 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ottawa Senators pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Brockville Braves on a clutch goal by Ryan Collins. Ottawa was led by goalie Alexandre Savard-Belanger, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Savard-Belanger will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.7. The Senators were paced by Collins, who had one goal. Collins scored 4:22 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. Hunter Racine provided the assist. Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Ottawa also got a goal from Chad Millett as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Cameron Roth, Luc Deschamps, and Michael Evelyn, who each chipped in one. Brockville could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Braves put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Brockville's offense rang up 33 shots on the Senators' net. The Braves were led by Ben Blasko, who scored the team's only goal. Blasko scored 11:45 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Chris Roll assisted on the tally. Ottawa incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Senators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Joe Shecter was ejected from the game. Andrew Pikul recorded 22 saves for Brockville. The Braves incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
