Pembroke stifles Kemptville's comeback, gains 4-2 victoryPembroke Memorial Center Sun, Dec 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Kemptville 73s, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory. Pembroke led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Lumber Kings' Jordan Boucher-Gould's scored at 17:26 in the first period to put Pembroke up 3-0. The Lumber Kings' penalty kill excelled, as Pembroke gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. The Lumber Kings were paced by Owen McDade, who racked up one goal. McDade scored 15:57 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Pembroke. Cody Trowell picked up the assist. Pembroke's offense rang up 41 shots on Kemptville's net. Pembroke also got points from Emilio Audi, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ryan Erickson also scored for Pembroke. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Philippe Drouin, who had two and Charlie Connell and Keegan Harper, who contributed one a piece. The 73s were helped by Jacob Smith, who registered two goals. Smith scored the first of his two goals at 5:45 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. Stephen Cooney assisted on the tally. Smith's next tally made the score 3-2 Pembroke with 7:31 left in the second period. A tripping penalty on Brendan Mcguire had put Kemptville on the power play. Cooney provided the assist. More assists for Kemptville came via Cody Hendsbee and Mason Nowak, who each chipped in one. Andy Munroe recorded 25 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The 73s' Billy Cooper stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Kemptville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
