Brockville's comeback falls short, Cornwall wins 4-3

The Cornwall Colts, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Cornwall and clinched a 4-3 victory.

The Colts led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Cornwall's Kevin Hope's scored at 11:20 in the first period to put the Colts up 3-0.

Roman Ammirato had two goals to lead Cornwall to victory. Ammirato scored on the power play at 1:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall and again while 15:28 into the third to make the score 4-2 Cornwall.

Cornwall additionally got points from Hope, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brandon Howes also scored for Cornwall. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Michael Pontarelli, Trent Durocher, and Mitch Zion, who each chipped in two.

The Brockville Braves' offense rang up 38 shots on the Colts' net.

Brockville was helped by Anthony Pino, who tallied one goal. Pino scored 11:39 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Cornwall. Taylor Henry assisted on the tally. Brockville also got points from Ben Blasko, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chris Roll, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Brockville came via David Ferreira and Kevin Kirisits, who contributed one a piece.

Cornwall's Jordan Piccolino stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Colts incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Pikul made 22 saves for the Braves on 26 shots. Brockville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
