Smiths Falls falls to Brockville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Hayden Hulton gave the Brockville Braves a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Smiths Falls Bears when he scored 14 seconds into the extra period.

Although Brockville was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Smiths Falls kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Bears got to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Tyler Akeson at 8:44 in the third period.

Hulton was all over the ice for the Braves, as he registered two goals in the win.

Brockville kept Smiths Falls' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jimmy Howe made 37 saves on 41 shots.

Chris Roll also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Shane Riddell and Brian Hennessey, who contributed two a piece.

The Bears forced the Braves goalie Matthew Jenkins to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Smiths Falls also got a goal from Ryan Eardley as well. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls were Blaine Byron, Jeffrey Carroll, and Patrick Sexton, who each chipped in one.

Brockville's Jenkins stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Aaron Hickie was ejected from the game. Smiths Falls incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
