Cumberland survives Gloucester comeback, wins 4-2

The Gloucester Rangers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Cumberland Grads held on for a 4-2 victory.

Cumberland took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Gloucester storm back on a Patrick White goal 3:07 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Mark Golberg was all over the ice for the Grads, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Golberg's tallies came on the power play at 15 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Cumberland and 15:22 into the second to make the score 3-1 Cumberland.

Cumberland forced the Rangers goalie Gunner Rivers to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Cumberland also got a goal from Matthew Morin as well. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Andrew DeBrincat, who had two and Bobby Williams, Colin Kruse, Chris King, Kevin Giroux, Eric Clitsome, and Jeremy Xatruch, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester kept the Grads' goalie busy throughout the game, and Reilly Turner made 35 saves on 37 shots.

Keegan Rowe also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Carl-Philippe Ouimet, Shane Topf, and Stevie Ray Adams, who contributed one a piece.

Cumberland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rangers' Rivers stopped 38 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Gloucester incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
