Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brockville Braves defeated the Cornwall Colts in a shootout 6-5 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout. Cornwall's shootout goal was scored by Roman Ammirato. Brockville's other shootout goal was scored by David Ferreira.The Braves overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Brockville trailed 5-4 after a goal by the Colts' Trent Durocher at 9:51 in the third period. The Braves tied things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Zach Todd at 11:33 in the third period. Chris Roll was all over the ice for Brockville, as he had two goals in the win. Roll scored at 18 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville and again while 19:46 into the first to make the score 2-2. The Braves forced Cornwall goalie Jordan Piccolino to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Brockville bested its season scoring average. The Braves have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Brockville's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Brockville additionally got points from Ferreira, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Jay Kourkoulis also scored for Brockville. In addition, Brockville received assists from Ben Blasko, who had four and Jonathan Power, Cory Wilson, and Brian Hennessey, who each chipped in one. The Colts were helped by Stephen Johnson, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Johnson scored 11:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Brandon Howes provided the assist. Cornwall also got points from Ammirato, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Mitch Zion, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Kevin Hope, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Cornwall ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andrew Ming was ejected from the game.
