Pembroke rolls over Cumberland, 6-3

The Pembroke Lumber Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Cumberland Grads, and when the final buzzer sounded Lumber Kings emerged with a 6-3 win.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cumberland power plays. Cumberland was unable to stop the Lumber Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Pembroke eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. The Lumber Kings outdid their season average for goals scored. Pembroke has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Keegan Harper, who finished with one goal. Harper scored on the power play 5:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Pembroke earned a power play opportunity when Zach Rodier was put in the box for tripping. Ben Dalpe provided the assist. Pembroke also got points from Dalpe, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Timmy Moore, who had two and Brendan Mcguire and Liam Biard, who each put in one. More assists for Pembroke came via Michael Crocock, Emilio Audi, Patrice Wren, Owen McDade, and Colin Bradbury, who contributed one a piece and Philippe Drouin, Jordan Larson, and Tyler Gaudet, who each chipped in two.

The Grads were helped by Matt Allan, who racked up one goal. Allan scored 16:18 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. David Bennett assisted on the tally. Colin Kruse also scored for Cumberland. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Chris King, Kevin Giroux, and Jeremy Xatruch, who contributed one a piece.

Andy Munroe made 23 saves for the Lumber Kings on 26 shots. Pembroke incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Devan Tremblay recorded 46 saves for Cumberland. The Grads incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
