Gloucester falls to Nepean in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Nepean Raiders pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Gloucester Rangers on a clutch goal by Stephan Beauvais.

Mitchell Herlihey had a great game for Nepean, netting two goals. Herlihey found the back of the net 12:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Nepean and again while 17:28 into the second to make the score 3-2 Nepean.

The Raiders pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Nepean excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Gloucester was unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Nepean eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Nepean additionally got points from Dalen Hedges, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Nepean received assists from Kenneth Neil and Phil Nasca, who each chipped in one and Keenan Hodgson and Vincent Llorca, who contributed two a piece.

The Rangers forced the Raiders goalie Ryan Mulder to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Gloucester was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time.

The Rangers were helped by Alexandre Boivin, who registered one goal. Boivin scored 13:45 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Cullen Van Strien assisted on the tally. Gloucester also got points from Patrick White, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Gloucester also got a goal from Christian Leger as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Keegan Rowe, Daniel Baslyk, and Samuel Quaranta, who each chipped in one.

Mulder recorded 40 saves for Nepean. The Raiders registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. Dylan BrindAmour made 28 saves for Gloucester on 32 shots. For the Rangers, Cory Durocher was ejected from the game.
