Behind a great game by Kevin Dufour, who had two goals, the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Kemptville 73s, 3-1. Dufour scored on the power play at 1:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 6:24 into the second to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place.Carleton Place forced Kemptville goalie Jacob Tugnutt to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. Luke Edwards also scored for Carleton Place. Other players who recorded assists for Carleton Place were Elias Ghantous, who had two and Garrett Moore, Alex Globke, Alex Frere, and Stephen Bayliss, who contributed one a piece. The 73s were led by Jacob Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored on the power play 19:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. Kemptville had taken the advantage when the Canadians' Bayliss got sent off for interference. James Devlin picked up the assist. Brendan Oneill rejected 21 shots on goal for Carleton Place. The Canadians totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For Carleton Place, Bayliss was ejected from the game. Tugnutt recorded 43 saves for the 73s. Kemptville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. The 73s ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ben St Marseille was ejected from the game.
