Hedges nets hat trick, leads Nepean to 5-2 win over Gloucester

The Gloucester Rangers could not stop the Nepean Raiders' Dalen Hedges, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Hedges got on the scoresheet 8:51 into the third period. He then added goals at 12:41 into the third and at 15:22 into the third.

Gloucester's power play was ineffective against Nepean's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Raiders stifled the Rangers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean's offense rang up 44 shots on Gloucester's net.

Nepean additionally got points from Andrew DeBrincat, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Brandon Belding also scored for Nepean. In addition, Nepean received assists from Kenneth Neil, who had two, Keenan Hodgson, who had four, and Wyatt Trumbley and Mitchell Herlihey, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

The Rangers were helped by Stevie Ray Adams, who registered one goal. Adams scored 15:42 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Alexandre Boivin provided the assist. Gloucester also got a goal from Matt Rosebrook as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Christian Leger, Maximilian Veronneau, and Cory Durocher, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Zawadzki rejected 41 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Gloucester's Dylan BrindAmour stopped 39 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
