Gloucester's comeback falls short, Brockville wins 5-4

The Brockville Braves came close to giving away a four-goal lead to the Gloucester Rangers, but did just enough to escape with a 5-4 victory.

Brockville led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Braves' Chris Roll's scored on the power play at 13:09 in the first period to put Brockville up 4-0.

The Braves forced Gloucester's goalies to work in net, getting 31 shots and forcing 26 saves. Gunner Rivers made 23 stops and Gianmarco De Meis made three.

Brockville was helped by Erik Brown, who grabbed one goal. Brown scored 6:41 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Brockville. Nathan Todd assisted on the tally. Brockville also got points from Zach Todd, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Ben Blasko, who also registered one goal and two assists, Roll, who also had one goal and one assist, and David Ferreira, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Brockville came via Cory Wilson and Jay Kourkoulis, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Jenkins made 31 saves on 35 shots. Gloucester's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in four goals.

The Rangers were led by Matt Rosebrook, who finished with four goals. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Alexandre Boivin, who had two and Sam Dudly, Christian Leger, Miguel Laurin, and Alexander Sifton, who each chipped in one.

Brockville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Rangers, Chad Millett was ejected from the game.
