House nets hat trick, leads Kemptville to 6-3 win over Cumberland

The Cumberland Grads could not stop the Kemptville 73s' Joey House, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

House's first goal came 17:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:46 into the second and at 1:51 into the third.

In a losing effort, Cumberland was led by Zach Rodier, who grabbed two goals. Rodier scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 39 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kemptville. Matt Allan assisted on the tally. Rodier's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Kemptville with 7:11 left in the third period. Mitch Allen provided the assist.

Kemptville forced the Grads goalie Devan Tremblay to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The 73s' goal total was higher than their season average. Kemptville has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kemptville additionally got points from Jake Butler, who also had one goal and one assist and Blaine Byron, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kemptville also got a goal from Lucas Gonu as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville were Brett Varrin, Mason Nowak, and Jesse Lussier, who contributed two a piece.

The 73s were unable to stop Cumberland from sending pucks towards the net, and the Grads eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Cumberland also got points from Allan, who also had one goal and two assists. More assists for Cumberland came via Chris King and Justin Pelock, who each chipped in one.

Jacob Tugnutt recorded 33 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Devan Tremblay made 26 saves for Cumberland on 32 shots. The Grads incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
