The Carleton Place Canadians tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Hawkesbury Hawks would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Hawkesbury took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Carleton Place storm back on a Jide Idowu goal 12:32 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Hawks' penalty kill excelled, as Hawkesbury gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. The Hawks were led by Holden Anderson, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Anderson scored 5:18 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Hawkesbury. Antonio Roumeliotis picked up the assist. Carl Faucher also scored for Hawkesbury. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Yanik Laliberte and Ryan Kruss, who contributed one a piece. The Canadians were helped by Stephen Bayliss, who had one goal. Bayliss scored short handed 16:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hawkesbury. Carleton Place found itself down a man on Elias Ghantous' head contact. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Kevin Dufour and Luke Edwards, who each chipped in one. Brock Crossthwaite rejected 17 shots on goal for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Canadians took out Tony Kujava after he had made three saves and installed Justin Laforest in goal, where he finished with 13 saves and the loss. Carleton Place incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
