Millen, Ottawa blank Pembroke, 2-0

Charlie Millen recorded a shutout against the Pembroke Lumber Kings as the Ottawa Senators picked up a 2-0 win.

Ottawa was sparked by Paul Landry, who tallied one goal and one assist. Landry scored 8:20 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Justin Charbonneau picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 6:10 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Senators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pembroke power plays. Ottawa's defensive play was more effective than usual against Pembroke. The Senators allow 2.8 goals per game.

Ottawa also got a goal from Ryan Collins as well. More assists for Ottawa came via Joey Champigny and Ben Robillard, who each chipped in one.

The Lumber Kings stifled Ottawa's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pembroke could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Lumber Kings put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

The Senators' Millen stopped 25 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Ottawa totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-7 on the power play. For the Senators, Stephen Inman was ejected from the game. Andy Munroe rejected 22 shots on goal for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. Team's David Fassbender and Keegan Harper were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
