The Carleton Place Canadians were firing on all cylinders against the Smiths Falls Bears, and when the final buzzer sounded Canadians emerged with a 7-3 win. Stephen Bayliss had two goals and two assists to lead Carleton Place. Bayliss scored the first of his two goals at 11:49 into the third period to make the score 6-3 Carleton Place. Jackson Howe picked up the assist. Bayliss' next tally made the score 7-3 Carleton Place with 47 seconds left in the third period. A cross checking penalty on Kevin Millejours had put the Canadians on the power play. Luke Kasteel assisted on the tally. In a losing effort, Smiths Falls was led by Chris Maniccia, who racked up two goals. Maniccia scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 4:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls. The Bears earned a power play opportunity when Luke Martin was put in the box for roughing after whistle. Connor McLaren provided the assist. Maniccia's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 19:37 left in the second period. Daniele Disipio assisted on the tally. Carleton Place bested its season scoring average. The Canadians average 3.8 goals per game. Carleton Place additionally got points from Kevin Dufour, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Anthony McVeigh, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Brock Edwards, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Carleton Place also got a goal from Luke Edwards as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Alex Frere, who had one and Kelly Summers, who had three. Smiths Falls' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Bears finished with 26 penalty minutes. Tyler Akeson also scored for Smiths Falls. More assists for Smiths Falls came via Patrick Sexton, who had two and Yannick Crete and Jeffrey Carroll, who contributed one a piece. Tony Kujava made 13 saves for Carleton Place on 16 shots. The Canadians incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Carleton Place ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nic Erb was ejected from the game. Patrick Martin rejected 23 shots on goal for Smiths Falls. The Bears registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
