Hawkesbury uses big second period to beat Gloucester, 6-0

The Hawkesbury Hawks used a three-goal second period to put away the Gloucester Rangers, 6-0.

Hawkesbury got the win behind a great game by Stefano Momesso, who had one goal and three assists. Momesso scored 17:16 into the second period to make the score 4-0 Hawkesbury. Shane Topf picked up the assist.

The Hawks made Rangers' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Gianmarco De Meis made nine stops and Gunner Rivers made 18. Hawkesbury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Hawks bested their season scoring average. Hawkesbury averages 3.0 goals per game.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Topf, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Yanik Laliberte, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Nicholas Brazeau, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Carl Faucher as well. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Ross Kovacs, who had two and Ryan Kruss, Holden Anderson, and Ryan Patulli, who each chipped in one.

Gloucester could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Rangers average 2.7 goals per game.

Carmine Guerriero made 16 saves for the Hawks on 16 shots. Hawkesbury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
