The Smiths Falls Bears survived a determined comeback attempt by the Brockville Braves on the way to a 6-5 win.

A goal by Chris Maniccia put Smiths Falls up 6-2 in the third period, but Brockville pulled to within one on Zach Todd's tally 14:44 into the third period.

The Bears racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Smiths Falls had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game.

Smiths Falls additionally got points from Tyler Akeson, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Connor McLaren as well. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Karson McCartney, who had two, Yannick Crete, who had three, and Cameron Romoff, Cole Allard, and Ryan Eardley, who contributed one a piece.

The Braves kept the Bears' goalie busy throughout the game, and Patrick Martin made 30 saves on 35 shots. Brockville struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 23 penalty minutes for 10 opposing power plays. Team could not crack Smiths Falls' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Brockville also got points from Ben Blasko, who also had one goal and one assist, Cory Wilson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Taylor Henry, who also tallied one goal and one assist. David Ferreira also scored for Brockville. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Owen Gill, Erik Brown, Aaron Hickie, and Anthony Pino, who each chipped in one.

For the Bears, Patrick Sexton was ejected from the game. The Braves' Matthew Jenkins stopped 21 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Walter was ejected from the game.
