Huge game by Llorca boosts Nepean over Kanata, 8-1

Vincent Llorca was all over the ice for the Nepean Raiders, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Nepean's 8-1 win over the Kanata Stallions.

Llorca found the back of the net on the power play 12:39 into the second period to make the score 7-0 Nepean and again while 17:36 into the second to make the score 8-0 Nepean.

The Raiders pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 27 penalty minutes.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:04 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

Nepean forced Stallions' netminders to work in net, taking 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brandon Lane made eight stops and Brayden St-Germain made 21. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Nepean surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Raiders have scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign.

Nepean additionally got points from Alex ODea, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Tanner Williams, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Brandon Watt, who also grabbed two goals and two assists. Nepean also got a goal from Keenan Hodgson as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Stephan Beauvais and Wyatt Coghill, who contributed one a piece and Kenneth Neil, Phil Nasca, and Michael Vered, who each chipped in two.

The Kanata penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and three majors for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Stallions surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Kanata's offense operated below it season average. The Stallions put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

Connor Cobbold also scored for Kanata. More assists for Kanata came via Joe Breslin and Niles Owen, who contributed one a piece.

Ryan Mulder made 29 saves for Nepean on 30 shots. The Raiders registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Nepean ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Beauvais was ejected from the game. Team's Teddy Suckow and C Blakely were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
