Kanata wins tough contest against Carleton Place, 4-3Carleton Place Arena Fri, Oct 26, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Kanata Stallions escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Carleton Place Canadians. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by JJ Hart at 30 seconds of the third period. Kanata was led by Hart, who finished with one goal and one assist. Kanata also got a goal from Derian Plouffe as well. In addition, Kanata received assists from Cole Hutchinson, Curtis Watson, Fabian Walsh, and Devin Fullum, who each chipped in one. Carleton Place's offense rang up 35 shots on the Stallions' net. The Canadians were helped by Christian Weidauer, who tallied one goal. Weidauer scored on the power play 11:05 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Carleton Place. Carleton Place had gotten the advantage when Kanata's Hart was sent off for interference. Larry Smith picked up the assist. Luke Martin also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Nic Erb, Stephen Bayliss, and Evan Peterson, who contributed one a piece. Brandon Lane recorded 32 saves for the Stallions. Kanata incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Canadians' Tony Kujava stopped 14 shots out of the 18 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
