Ottawa holds on for 2-1 win against Brockville

The Brockville Braves tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Ottawa Senators held on for a 2-1 victory.

A goal by Ben Robillard put Ottawa up 2-0 in the first period, but Brockville pulled to within one on Anthony Pino's tally 8:40 into the third period.

The Senators pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Ottawa also got a goal from Eric Witzel as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Greg Jansz, who had two and Owen Werthner and Hunter Racine, who each chipped in one.

The Braves could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Brockville puts an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

More assists for Brockville came via Jonathan Power and Nathan Todd, who contributed one a piece.

Charlie Millen recorded 19 saves for Ottawa. The Senators registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. The Braves' Matthew Jenkins stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
