Huge game by Nasca boosts Nepean over Carleton Place, 6-3Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Wed, Oct 24, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders' Phil Nasca had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Carleton Place Canadians. Nasca got on the board by slotting home a goal 14:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nepean. Brandon Watt provided the assist. Nasca dished an assist on Keenan Hodgson's goal that made the score 1-0 Nepean at 11:56 into the first period. He added another helper on Mike Milito's goal that made the score 5-2 Nepean at 13:45 into the third period.Nepean forced Carleton Place goalie Tony Kujava to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Nepean additionally got points from Dalen Hedges, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Andrew DeBrincat, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Steven Johnston also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Brent Norris, who had two and Derek Diaz, Vincent Llorca, Wyatt Coghill, and Kenneth Neil, who each chipped in one. The Canadians kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Zawadzki made 36 saves on 39 shots. Carleton Place was led by Evan Peterson, who tallied one goal and one assist. Peterson scored 13:39 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Nepean. Jackson Howe assisted on the tally. Carleton Place also got a goal from Christian Weidauer as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Kevin Dufour, Alec Butcher, Luke Edwards, and Alex Frere, who contributed one a piece. Nepean incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tony Kujava made 41 saves for the Canadians on 47 shots. Carleton Place incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
