Neil's big game bests Gloucester in 6-1 Nepean winNepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Oct 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers had trouble finding ways to stop the Nepean Raiders, which beat Rangers, 6-1. Nepean got the win behind a great game by Kenneth Neil, who had two goals and one assist. Neil scored the first of his two goals short handed at 19:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Nepean. The Raiders found themselves down a man on Steven Johnston's tripping. Keenan Hodgson picked up the assist. Neil's next tally short handed made the score 6-1 Nepean with 7:09 left in the third period. Nepean had gotten the advantage when Gloucester's Jordan Gravel-Pilon was sent off for cross checking. Dalen Hedges provided the assist. The Rangers were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Nepean eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Raiders took advantage of Gloucester's penalties, tallying two goals off of three power play opportunities. Nepean additionally got points from Brent Norris, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Phil Nasca, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Andrew DeBrincat, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Vincent Llorca, who had one. The Rangers were led by Stevie Ray Adams, who scored the team's only goal. Adams scored 4:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Cory Durocher assisted on the tally. Matt Zawadzki rejected 21 shots on goal for Nepean. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Gunner Rivers recorded 28 saves for Gloucester. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
