Pembroke blows out Cornwall, 6-1Pembroke Memorial Center Fri, Oct 19, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Cornwall Colts, and when the final buzzer sounded Lumber Kings emerged with a 6-1 win. Cornwall was stymied by Pembroke netminder Andy Munroe, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Munroe certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.23 entering the contest. The Lumber Kings were led by Stephen Hrehoriak, who had one goal and one assist. Hrehoriak scored on the power play 12:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Pembroke earned a power play opportunity when Roman Ammirato was put in the box for misconduct. Tyler Gaudet provided the assist. The Lumber Kings forced the Colts' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, launching 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Jordan Piccolino made eight stops and James Edwardson made 36. Pembroke's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Lumber Kings average 3.7 goals per contest. Others who scored for Pembroke included Jordan Larson, who had two and Brian Hennessey, Keegan Harper, and Liam Biard, who each put in one. Cornwall incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
