Cornwall falls to Pembroke in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Cornwall Colts on a clutch goal by Philippe Drouin.

Pembroke came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lumber Kings was down 3-0 after a goal by Cornwall's Sean King at 11:49 in the first period. Pembroke knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Marly Quince at 19:28 in the third period.

The Lumber Kings was paced on offense by Drouin and Ben Dalpe, who combined for seven points. Drouin finished with one goal and two assists and Dalpe also notched zero goals and four assists.

Pembroke forced the Colts goalie Jordan Piccolino to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Lumber Kings bested their season scoring average. This season, Pembroke averages 3.6 goals per contest. The Lumber Kings cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. Pembroke got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Pembroke additionally got points from Brendan Mcguire, who also registered one goal and one assist, Stephen Hrehoriak, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Tyler Gaudet, who also had one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Sam Gleason as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Emilio Audi, Jordan Larson, and Liam Biard, who contributed one a piece.

Cornwall's offense rang up 31 shots on the Lumber Kings' net.

Cornwall also got points from Roman Ammirato, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Khalid Alli also scored for Cornwall. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Trent Durocher, who had two and Carl Belizario, Michael Pontarelli, Billy Ulrick, Nicholas Santoro, Ryan Kruss, and Brandon Howes, who each chipped in one.

Darren Smith recorded 26 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Colts' Piccolino stopped 40 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Cornwall incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
