Pembroke blows out Cumberland, 8-1

The Cumberland Grads had trouble finding ways to stop the Pembroke Lumber Kings, which beat Grads, 8-1.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cumberland power plays. The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 40 shots on Cumberland's net. Pembroke found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Lumber Kings have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Pembroke was helped by Tyler Gaudet, who racked up two goals and one assist. Gaudet scored the first of his two goals at 11:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Timmy Moore provided the assist. Gaudet's next tally made the score 3-0 Pembroke with 3:50 left in the first period. Patrice Wren picked up the assist. Pembroke also got points from Sam Gleason, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brendan Mcguire, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Ben Dalpe, who had two and Stephen Hrehoriak and Emilio Audi, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Charlie Connell, who had two, Jordan Larson, who had three, and Brian Hennessey and Cody Trowell, who each chipped in one.

The Grads were held below their usual level of production. Cumberland puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Grads' offense were handcuffed by the Lumber Kings' defensive play, and Cumberland managed only 12 shots on goal during the game.

Darren Smith recorded 11 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Devan Tremblay made 32 saves for the Grads on 40 shots. Cumberland incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
