Kanata rolls over Kemptville, 6-1

The Kemptville 73s had trouble finding ways to stop the Kanata Stallions, which beat 73s, 6-1.

Kanata was led by Joe Breslin, who finished with one goal. Breslin scored 11:22 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kanata. Mac Howey provided the assist.

The Stallions' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kemptville power plays. Kanata found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Stallions average 3.2 goals per contest.

Kanata additionally got points from Fabian Walsh, who also tallied two goals and one assist and Alex Stothart, who also had one goal and one assist. Kanata also got a goal from Braedan Moffatt as well. In addition, Kanata received assists from Reid Murphy, who had two and Curtis Watson, Derian Plouffe, Nic LaBurn, Mike Zajac, Connor Cobbold, Devin Fullum, and Niles Owen, who contributed one a piece.

Brandon Lane rejected 19 shots on goal for Kanata. The Stallions totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Kanata ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Breslin was ejected from the game. Kemptville's Billy Cooper stopped 19 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The 73s ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Kemptville, Stephen Cooney was ejected from the game.
