Huge game by Dufour boosts Carleton Place over Hawkesbury, 5-2

The Carleton Place Canadians' Kevin Dufour had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Hawkesbury Hawks.

Dufour scored on the power play at 1:39 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Carleton Place and again while 10:28 into the third to make the score 5-2 Carleton Place.

Carleton Place put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Hawkesbury to score on any of its five power plays. The Hawks were unable to stop the Canadians from sending pucks towards the net, and Carleton Place eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also got points from Larry Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Nic Erb as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Christian Weidauer, who had two and Alex Globke, Alex Frere, and Brock Edwards, who contributed one a piece.

Hawkesbury was helped by Carl Faucher, who racked up one goal. Faucher scored 16:24 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Brandon Bussey picked up the assist. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Shane Topf, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Holden Anderson, who had one.

Tony Kujava made 24 saves for the Canadians on 26 shots. Carleton Place incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Carmine Guerriero rejected 27 shots on goal for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
