Gloucester wins tough contest against Kanata, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Gloucester Rangers escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Kanata Stallions.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Kyle Leduc at 16:35 of the third period.

In a losing effort, Kanata was sparked by Alex Stothart, who registered two goals. Stothart scored the first of his two goals at 13:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kanata. Fabian Walsh assisted on the tally. Stothart's next tally made the score 2-2 with 17:33 left in the third period. The Stallions earned a power play opportunity when Colton Keuhl was put in the box for slashing. Curtis Watson picked up the assist.

Gloucester was led by Leduc, who finished with one goal.

Kanata was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Gloucester additionally got points from Matt Rosebrook, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Christian Leger, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Keegan Rowe also scored for Gloucester. Other players who recorded assists for Gloucester were Sam Dudly, Patrick White, and Eric Malloy, who contributed one a piece.

The Stallions kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 34 saves on 36 shots.

In addition, Kanata received assists from Neil Penner, who had one.

Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brayden St-Germain rejected 38 shots on goal for Kanata. The Stallions incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
