Brockville rips Cumberland, 7-1Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Oct 12, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brockville Braves had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-1 win over the Cumberland Grads. Cumberland's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Braves were sparked by Ben Blasko, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Blasko scored 9:22 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Brockville. Chris Roll provided the assist. Brockville surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Braves have scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Brockville also got points from Roll, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Nathan Todd, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Cory Wilson, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Taylor Henry, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jonathan Power also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via Owen Gill, Shane Riddell, Zach Todd, David Ferreira, Griffen Molino, Kevin Kirisits, and Chris Goulet, who each chipped in one. The Grads could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Cumberland puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Grads were led by Eric Clitsome, who scored the team's only goal. Clitsome scored on the power play 19:25 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Brockville. Cumberland had gained a power play chance when Goulet was whistled for tripping. Philippe Paquette assisted on the tally. Matthew Jenkins recorded 24 saves for Brockville. The Braves incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. The Grads' starting goalie, Devan Tremblay, made 11 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Reilly Turner, who stopped nine shots. Cumberland incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
