Mulder, Nepean blank Kanata, 5-0

Ryan Mulder made 39 saves to complete the shutout and led the Nepean Raiders to a 5-0 win against the Kanata Stallions.

Nepean pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

The Raiders were paced by Cameron Yarwood, who finished with one goal and one assist. Yarwood scored 10 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Keenan Hodgson assisted on the tally.

Nepean forced Kanata's goalies to work without much rest, finishing with 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. Brandon Lane made 18 stops and Brayden St-Germain made 21. The Raiders stifled the Stallions' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean featured an improved defense during the game. The Raiders allow 2.7 goals per game.

Nepean also got points from Dalen Hedges, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Hodgson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Phil Nasca as well. More assists for Nepean came via Brandon Watt and Steven Johnston, who contributed one a piece and Kenneth Neil and Brent Norris, who each chipped in two.

Kanata did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Stallions average 3.0 goals per game. Kanata's offense rang up 39 shots on Nepean's net. The Stallions got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their nine chances.

The Raiders registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Kanata incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
