The Gloucester Rangers tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Ottawa Senators held on for a 5-3 victory. A goal by Bruno Cheff put Ottawa up 4-0 in the second period, but Gloucester pulled to within two on Matt Rosebrook's tally 7:03 into the third period. The Senators were led by Hunter Racine, who grabbed one goal. Racine scored 14:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa. Greg Jansz picked up the assist. Ottawa additionally got points from Owen Werthner, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Jansz, who also had one goal and two assists, and Luc Deschamps, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Ryan Collins, Cameron Roth, Anthony Bada, Mike Martin, Eric Witzel, and Ben Robillard, who contributed one a piece. Team could not crack Ottawa's penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Rangers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Gloucester also got points from Andrew Rossy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Gloucester came via Alexandre Boivin, who had two and Keegan Rowe, Christian Leger, and Stevie Ray Adams, who each chipped in one. Alexandre Savard-Belanger recorded 27 saves for the Senators. Ottawa incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Gianmarco De Meis made 24 saves for Gloucester on 29 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
