The Carleton Place Canadians and the Pembroke Lumber Kings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Carleton Place made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Nic Erb's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Canadians were paced by Erb, who finished with one goal. Erb scored 14:56 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Carleton Place. Michael Maciag picked up the assist.

Carleton Place's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pembroke power plays. The Canadians kept Pembroke's goalie busy throughout the game, and Darren Smith made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Carleton Place also got points from Kevin Dufour, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also got a goal from Brock Edwards as well. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Larry Smith, Elias Ghantous, and Christian Weidauer, who contributed one a piece.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Stephen Hrehoriak, who racked up one goal. Hrehoriak scored 4:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ben Dalpe assisted on the tally. Michael Crocock also scored for Pembroke. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Brian Hennessey and Philippe Drouin, who each chipped in one.

Tony Kujava recorded 22 saves for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pembroke incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
