Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Smiths Falls Bears defeated the Brockville Braves in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.Smiths Falls overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bears fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Brockville's Cory Wilson at 2:29 in the first period. Smiths Falls tied things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Yannick Crete at 13:05 in the third period. Crete was all over the ice for the Bears, as he registered two goals in the win. Smiths Falls forced Braves' goalies to work in net, ripping 44 shots and forcing 38 saves. Matthew Jenkins made 30 stops and Cody Karpinski made eight. Smiths Falls also got points from Jeffrey Carroll, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Daniele Disipio as well.
