Brockville penalty kill dominates in 3-0 defeat of Nepean

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Brockville Braves were able to defeat the Nepean Raiders, 3-0.

Brockville was led by Nathan Todd, who tallied one goal. Todd scored on the power play 1:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. The Braves earned a power play opportunity when Michael Vered was put in the box for tripping. David Ferreira provided the assist.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Braves forced Nepean goalie Matt Zawadzki to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Brockville additionally got points from Ferreira, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brockville also got a goal from Brandon Cole as well. More assists for Brockville came via Ben Blasko, who had two and Shane Riddell and Chris Roll, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders were held below their usual level of production. Nepean puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. The Raiders could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

Matthew Jenkins made 18 saves for Brockville on 18 shots. The Braves incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Taylor Henry was ejected from the game. Zawadzki rejected 30 shots on goal for Nepean.
