Ottawa wins tough contest against Kemptville, 5-3North Grenville Municipal 1 Fri, Sep 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Ottawa Senators and the Kemptville 73s was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Ottawa emerged with a 5-3 win. The Senators gained the winning advantage on a goal by Luc Deschamps 16:50 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. Deschamps had two goals to lead Ottawa to victory. The Senators forced Kemptville goalie Dylan BrindAmour to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Ottawa also got a goal from Anthony Bada as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Dylan Giberson, who had two and Ryan Collins, Marc Shanks, and Derek Brown, who each chipped in one. The 73s' offense rang up 34 shots on Ottawa's net. Kemptville was helped by Matt Rosebrook, who tallied one goal. Rosebrook scored on the power play 5:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. A holding penalty on Hunter Racine had put the 73s on the power play. Cody Hendsbee picked up the assist. Stephen Cooney also scored for Kemptville. More assists for Kemptville came via Kevin Valenti, who had two and Blaine Byron, Joey House, and Jesse Lussier, who contributed one a piece. Alexandre Savard-Belanger rejected 31 shots on goal for the Senators. Ottawa totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Senators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Stephen Inman was ejected from the game. BrindAmour recorded 29 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
