Kanata beats Gloucester 1-0 as Lane gains shutout

Brandon Lane made 31 saves to complete the shutout and led the Kanata Stallions to a 1-0 win against the Gloucester Rangers.

Curtis Watson's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 16:51 in the second period. A high sticking penalty on Jordan Gravel-Pilon had put Kanata on the power play. Mike Zajac picked up the assist.

The Stallions' penalty kill excelled, as Kanata gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Stallions stifled Gloucester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kanata's offense operated below it season average. The Stallions average 3.3 goals per game.

More assists for Kanata came via Fabian Walsh, who had one.

The Rangers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Gloucester puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. The Rangers' offense rang up 31 shots on Kanata's net.

The Stallions incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Gunner Rivers recorded 28 saves for Gloucester. The Rangers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
